It had all the ingredients-

-Sassy, new haircut? Check.
-Good night's sleep? Check.
-At work on time? Check.
-Busy but not crazed? Check.
-Mental stability? Check(ish).
-Great new tunes? Check.
-Wonderful, complimentary email from an old high school friend? Check.
-Ability to overcome my shock, rage, and utter despair over the fact that Hope & Union, The Best Cafe/Bakery In The World, will be changing its ownership and menus, and no longer offering delicious Banana Nut Bran Muffins baked ON SITE, but instead will serve baked goods SHIPPED IN every day? MOTHER. FUCKING. CHECK! because THAT'S how determined I was to make THIS week better than LAST week, which will forever be know to me as That Week I Plunged Into An Emotional Sinkhole Wherein I Experienced A Few Terrifying Moments During Which I Lost All Faith, And Out Of Which I Am Still Attempting To Claw My Way.

The only antidote to a week like that is an iTunes blitz and a seriously sassy, totally cute, new haircut (courtesy of KRISTIE). If not for my new, sassy hair, I might not have been able to endure the mushroom cloud of devastation caused by the sad Hope & Union news I received this morning. Also, I was assured that the coffee was staying exactly the same, which lessened the impact of the blow not absorbed by my Protect Helmet of Awesome Hair.

However, no haircut, no iced coffee, no baked-fresh-on-site banana nut bran muffin in the whole wide WORLD is strong enough to withstand the blood-curdling realization that - just when I had finally, for the first time in MONTHS, crammed her full of music about which I was actually giddy - my iPod has once again left me for greener pastures.

Dear Apple,

I'm glad you won that bullshit trademark lawsuit, but this is seriously shitty!!! I'm devastated and it's all your fault.

I hate you.

Love,
Danielle
