First of all, this is an ACTUAL headline from CNN.com: "Hilary Duff Feels Pressure To Be Thin."
I'm pretty sure there was a tsunami somewhere this weekend and that people died. Or something.
Anyway.
Yeah, so! Today I finally moved up to our Sunset Blvd. offices with the rest of my team. I'm so excited because it cuts my commute in half and is also a little stinky in this part of town. Makes me all nostalgic for New York in all it's humid, fetid glory. Except, without the humidity. Heh.
A co-worker and I decided to celebrate my long-awaited arrival with an off-site meal. We chose a place across the street. The place was pretty empty, surprisingly, so it seemed almost too good to be true when we were seated next to none other than the Saget.
My companion was oblivious for the entire meal. As we talked about work, all I could think was, "Damn, how can she not notice The Saget in the seat RIGHT NEXT TO HER?" Alas, to her, unnoticed went he.
At my table, I sat opposite where he was seated at his table, so I could steal some quality surreptitious glances of the man who once had to put up with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's formula farts.
He takes care of himself. He looks like you would expect The Saget to look. He was very friendly to his waitress and joked around. He looked my way a few times, but that probably had something to do with the unique timbre associated with my laugh. Some describe it as "loud."
Overall, today has been a good day. Kimberly is in town, and for a fleeting moment this weekend, so were Kelly and John. We all gathered at Meghan's place on Friday night for some good food, wine, and conversation about anal sex and the dangers of splash conception, which I would link to here, but I'm at work and I don't think it would be wise to Google around for some links.
But you should wiki that shit, yo.
I will be sad when Kimberly leaves, just like I was sad when the Muppet left. There is nothing quite like being with all your girls. Especially when everybody is happy, healthy, and looking forward to only the good things in life.
Knowing well the paths we've all traveled since we met 11 years ago, it's especially special to still be in touch and celebrating each other's highs and cushioning each other's lows.
The four of us standing in Meghan's kitchen eating huge slices of German Chocolate Cake from the Sweet Lady Jane bakery will probably stand out for so many reasons. Particularly in that moment, we were aware of where we've been and where we were right then which, finally, for all of us, was happy.
