Where The HELL Have I BEEN?

Ladies and Gentleman, in the past, oh, 35 days or so, I have flown approximately 36,000 miles. Lots of stuff has happened. Like, Meghan's 30th birthday.

This is Meghan. Everybody say Happy Birthday! It was May 23. We went our for some tasty latin food. It was spicy and GOOOOOOD. Look how cute this skinny bitch is:

On May 23, in addition to thanking the Baby J for bringing Meghan into the world, I hopped a red-eye to Newark, then took 4 trains home to South Jersey, all the while reading this:

Echo Park

It's part of the Harry Bosch series. It was a good story and a quick read, even though I've rarely invested in a book series - with the exception of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Series. The Muppet's mom introduced me to them and to my surprise, I actually quite enjoy them. They're funny, sexy tales about a female bounty hunter from New Jersey. It's not possible to get any more entertaining than that, kids. You can check the whole series out at Amazon.com.

Anyhoo, I was heading to my step-brother's wedding in Princeton, NJ. They were married at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. It's a really beautiful place. There are indoor and outdoor sculptures everywhere you look, and it's all very well arranged and presented. If you live in the tri-state area, you really should try and get out there. You can take NJ Transit to the Hamilton stop and then take a short cab ride to the grounds.

A pic of one of my favorite sculptures on the Grounds:

My step-brother, Wayne, and his wife, Liza, were married in the Nine Muses exhibit. My father's white head is displayed prominently in this photo.

A couple more wedding photos:

My and my sister-in-law, soon-to-be Kristie Miller-Wright.

Me and Dad
Me and my Dad. I swear, he really is my Dad. I got his skeleton and dimples. And nasty, wide feet. And love for all things strange, random and historical. It was also his birthday in May on the 30th.

There are many other photos from the wedding. Like, at least 4 separate sets. So, if you're interested in seeing them, just email me and I'll send them to you.

After the wedding, I headed up to New York City and on to Brooklyn to visit with the Muppet and her husband, J3.

Franklins

I topped the weekend off with one of my favoritest things - A DuMont Burger.

Heaven on a plate.

What? Are you SURPRISED I took a picture of my favorite burger? Shoot, it's the screensaver on my new phone!

Finally, before I left the Muppet's house, I finished Echo Park and she gave me this to read:

Kite Runner

This is one of the best books I have read in a very long time, I shit you not. It's so well-written and such a compelling story. I can't wait to read the author's next release, A Thousand Splendid Suns.

I read The Kite Runner the entire flight back from New York to Los Angeles and managed to plow through about 340 of it's 388 pages. I wish I had taken it slower, because there are so many subtleties that I know I was only able to gloss over in my rush to find out What Happens Next. Because people, if you know me then you know this already, but I CAN'T NOT KNOW.

Finally, this past weekend, I attended the wedding of Gina and Oscar in Myrtle Beach, SC. I grew up with Gina and though this round of weddings and parties has been exhausting on so many levels, I was so happy to be at her wedding, seeing her as a bride. It's something we've talked about since we were both five years old. She is my oldest friend and I am so glad that she and Oscar found each other.

It was also good to hang out with friends from the old neighborhood and find out that everybody's really doing so well. We have a special bond, the kids from Robindale Manor. There was just something about growing up there with these kids that always makes me feel good when I think about it.

I don't have pictures of Gina's wedding to post yet, but I will as soon as I do. It was a lot of fun and I really am glad I went. Because I caught the bouquet. And if I didn't catch the bouquet, I was going to tackle the bitch who did! heh heh.

So, I guess that means MFDC has some shopping to do. Size 6, Baby. Love ya!

More pics later, including a few of the guy who caught the garter having mouth sex with my feet.

In the meantime, how is everybody??
