A Wintry Mix Of Turd And Crap

Ok, so I was just checking out New York's weather for the next few days and that is essentially what we're up against: turd and crap. I hate winters here. As a matter of fact I hate winters anywhere, really.

Having been born and raised on the east coast, of course, I have an appreciation for how pretty the landscape is after a snowfall. My nose appreciates the smell of snow - before, during and after. I like the idea of cuddling up under a blanket in a warm house, settling on to the couch to watch a movie and eating warm cookies just out of the oven. I like all that stuff, I do.

But, here's the thing - I don't know ANYBODY who keeps their homes anything close to "warm" these days, what with the rising cost of fuel and all. INCLUDING MY LANDLORD. So, I'm perpetually cold.

Also, I don't eat cookies too much anymore, let alone freshly baked ones from scratch. Not because I am afraid of the sugar, but because I am afraid of the 91 pounds I misplaced and hope to never find again.

I also don't have a TV, so curling up in front of it is pretty much just wishful thinking at this point. My actual life is a painfully stark contrast from the one I painted for you; the one the east coast tries to sell you in so that you'll stay here forever and pay high property taxes, because seriously - what stops you from packing up your kids and all your shit and moving to Arizona? RIGHT?

EXACTLY. So that's why I'm moving back to L.A. Actually, that's not REALLY why. There are a million reasons why. Meghan summed it up perfectly when she helped me understand that I'm doing this "For so many reasons that you'll still be discovering when you're 90."
