I am finally feeling human enough and secure enough in my internet connection to get a new post up, since one of my goals for the New Year (and the future, really) is to post more writey-writeys up in here.
Some pretty cool things from today, Jan. 3, 2008:
- Telling everybody at work I'm engaged and getting the "Ahhh! Whooo! Yaaay! Oooooh!" reactions.
- Seeing Muppie's little mupplette in 3-D!
- Having a violent case of food poisoning YESTERDAY but making it in TODAY because I'm HARDCORE. And I like EMPHASIZING THINGS.
- Securing another babysitting gig for the weekend. (I'm attempting to babysit/petsit my way to a magical, debt-free wedding.)
- Taking the gamble and ordering a side of mac & cheese for my soup at lunch. Without risk, there is no reward, my friends.
- Eating a cookie shaped like a panda.
- Hanging out with my friend/co-worker Irene.
- Watching my ring sparkle in the light of my desk lamp as I type and incurring many typos as a result. No matter. That's what spell-check is for!
I hope you all had a good New Year. This year, MFDC and I landed around 6 p.m. PST and were both passed out by 10:30 p.m. I know, boring. But we had McDonald's for dinner, which lends its own pizzazz to ordinary evenings, as I'm sure you all know!
Before I close, I just want to say thanks to Reggie, for writing pretty much the best congratulatory email an engaged couple could receive.
Words are powerful. This is something we need to remember every day.
