Mom Says You Have to Share!

Friday, July 23, 2004 0 comments
Can't believe I made it through this week. The weekend is supposed to be grumpy and rainy, which means I will have a chance to read at least 8 of the 40 books I've been meaning to read. And I will be able to sleep until my body naturally wakes up, which is nice, though uncivilized.

Admittedly, I am plum out of fresh idears for this here blog, so I decided that I would share with you the blogs that I regularly follow, and I encourage you to look at the blogs that those bloggers regularly follow, and so on...Here they are in order of favorites!

1. www.kristoffercarter.com

This is not really a "blog" per se, as an experience. It's wholly unique. And spesh. Give it a whirl. You will not want to get off, I promise.

2. www.dooce.com

One of the funniest bloggers out there. I hesitate to call her a "blogger" because she is so much more than that. She is side-splittingly funny and heart-wrenchingly honest. You will be as devoted as I am. You have to start at the beginning and work your way up to right now. (Her husband also has a blog, www.blurbomat.com, which is also quite good.)

3. www.alittlepregnant.com

If infertility can be funny, this woman will find a way to make it so. Though she has been through an extremely difficult time, her caustic and witty recollections keep you returning for the next chapter. You can't help but care about someone so self-deprecating.

4. www.hashai.com

One of the first "blogs" I ever followed, going back to 2002. She's a hilarious write for www.televisionwithoutpity.com, and her own site is that much funnier than her weekly recaps of Everwood, The Best Show Ever. Browse her archives.

5. www.tremble.com

I laugh so hard sometimes when I read this, that I cry and gasp for breath. He's also been on the internet since the zygote days of blogging. Again, I hesitate to say "blog." He's just so funny.

6. www.ironycentral.com

Oh my God. I'm happy his Story About the Baby is now going to be a book, but sad because it means you won't be able to read some of the funniest, most hilariously shocking tales of a father and his first year with his new daughter. The Story About the Toddler is still up, though, so you can enjoy that.

7. www.anildash.com

Seriously, brilliantly dry humor is so hard to come by, and Anil does it so well. You have to browse through the Pop Life section. His titles alone crack me up.

8. http://julia.typepad.com/julia

Another site I picked up from www.alittlepregnant.com. Funny woman struggling with infertility. I know that doesn't exactly sound like a recipe for a pot of laughs, but Julia is insightful and honest and funny all at once and deserves to me browsed through. Her humanity is what attracts me to this site.

Those are the ones I check every day. Maybe I should try working instead of reading blogs. Hmm...I'll think about it.
