I was going to wait until I get into work in about 8 hours to write this, but this is too huge. I won't be able to go back to sleep until I slap it up on this bitch.
This is so big that I was actually thinking about keeping my regularly scheduled WTF? Friday post and creating this one as an addendum. It would have been WTF? Fridays, Volume III with Special "My God Has Forsaken Me" Addendum. But I'm still not over it, so this gets the honor of being the Biggest WTF? Moment In TwerpsWorld History, along with the "My God Has Forsaken Me" Addendum to its already WTF? Moment status.
So, Kristoffer Carter played - actually, is playing right now as I type this - at The Abbey in Chicago. He is responsible for the quote in the previous post, which was taken from a phone conversation we'd had earlier in the day. I left a message in his Guestbook to rock out and to ALSO drunk dial me if he was so inclined. We all know I love that shit. I love to drunk dial my peeps and I love to be the recipient of drunken dialings. It just delights me...in much the same way that puppets do.
At about 11:15 p.m. I come up from a deep sleep (yeah, dude...I'm tired and was already in full on REM) to the sound of my phone ringing. It's Kristoffer Carter (still pimpin' that 310 number, dog!). I am almost instantly awake. "Yoooo!" I say. "Request line is open!!!" he says.
"What?" because it's hard for me to hear him.
"What do you want me to play?" he asks.
Still sleep-fuddled, I'm thinking jukebox here. He's in high spirits (Spirits!) and is drunk-dialing me and playing songs on the jukebox. This is actually what I am thinking at this point. So I say:
"I don't care! Just play me something! Woo-hoo!"
"Ok, I'll call you back in 5 minutes."
I'm thinking now that he has to order a beer or something. He calls me back in two minutes. I'm all, "Yoooo!" and he's playing "Ask" and shit!!!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rock and roll! Woooooo-hoooooo!!!
My spirits (!) soar, the rest of my sleep confusion clears and I listen in to an excellent performance of "Ask" followed by two new, very good songs. Yay! Not as good as being there, but still a very cool Rock and Roll moment in my dark bedroom and fluffy bed in Brooklyn, New York. IT GETS BETTER.
So, he finishes up the third song, and I'm ready to hang in for the rest of his set. I can hear him start to tune for "Happy Little Life," and I am so grateful because I had thought, shit, if I had understood that he was ACTUALLY TAKING REQUESTS, it's what I would have asked for. And I'm so psyched when I hear those little baby tuning notes because I know exactly what they are and what they will lead to...
WHICH ENDS UP BEING DEAD FUCKING AIR!
WTF???
Are you KIDDING ME? I have been rocking this song ALL DAMN WEEK! (Along with that Pussycat Dolls song, thank you to my Generous Benefactor - you know, the javascript for that on Myspace is bunk, so I can't post it...POO!) Not only have I been rocking it ALL WEEK, but I waited for it FOREVER!!! And whined like a little bitch until my Generous Benefactor took mercy on me and beamed it down to me from the Heavens. So, WHAT A TREAT to hear the first few notes of the song live and then WHAT A FUCKING LETDOWN TO LOSE THE CELLPHONE CONNECTION. This is the My God Has Forsaken Me Part.
Perhaps it's my luck. Perhaps songs can only be gifted to an individual one time per week: "The Universe says you are not authorized to hear this song in its super-spesh entirety more than one time per miserable, overworked, sleep-deprived week." WTF?
At least I have my iPod, which I've been listening to this entire time, and which never lets me down quite as hard as the Universe seems wont to do!
Admiral - I have some questions about this scorn you poured. Where'd you get all the "special" sounds??

How do you think I met Otis??
mfdc
That's hot.
I would like to say one thing. And as your Southern Methodist friend, you knew it was coming. God did not forsake you - Verizon did. So please make changes accordingly or you will feel the RATH of the Lord!
Have a great day!
Yes, you are correct. Verizon did forsake me, or whatever cell phone service Kristoffer subscribes to. Mine hung in, his crapped out!
