The agency just won a big New Business Pitch. FINALLY. We haven't won shit in AGES. We just keep losing and losing...but that's what losers do. They lose.
Anyway! The Powers That Be sprung for a nice big fruit, cheese, bread and wine spread. It's actually pretty nice. Apples in the shape of geese and whatnot.
Speaking of geese, did I ever tell you about my workstudy job in Europe? I had to feed the ducks and the geese. This was a pretty miserable job until the springtime when the males of the species (what's the plural of species? Specieses? Oh, it's just species) started dive-bombing the females while they were coasting peacefully in the moat. Then there would be quacks and squawks and wings flapping and feathers flying everywhere.
There is something to be said about having a glass (or two) of cabernet at your desk during a workday. I am much more relaxed. I'm not worried about that errant purchase order. I could not care less about those copies I forgot to pick up. They'll be there when I remember them.
Tonight when I leave I am taking the train to City Hall and meeting the Muppet. From there we will walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and then to her house and where we will order Baked Cheese. I am looking forward to it, except for the fact that I won't get to listen to my iPod as I walk the bridge. I'll have to talk to her. I just called her and she confirmed that it would be so.
Bummer. Cuz I'm rocking this song real hard. It's called Romantic Rights.
