The Date Was Ringing A Bell

All day I've been writing today's date and thinking, "Hmm...I feel like I should know this." I wondered if it was a friend's or relative's birthday, but nothing connected. Then I thought perhaps it was a meaningful date to me, but after consulting my personal archives, I again came up blank.

Though I will always remember this day, April 19, 2006, as The Day That Fucking Criminal Karl Rove Was Demoted, I still could not shake the feeling that I was supposed to know something about this day already. I turned, as I always do when my brain fails and I'm too lazy to text MFDC to the Almighty Wiki. Turns out, today was the day the Revolutionary War began. Good times!

It's true that many Americans might know this date, but I'm not sure many outside of Massachusetts, where the Monday preceding April 19 is usually a bank holiday (and which very fortuitously extends the tax deadline an additional 24 hours for its constituents), ever really notice it. Never let it be said that I am not a patriot!

In other news, I'm tired, and when I am tired, I make typos. Sometimes those typos make me look stupid, like when I send out work emails signed, "Daniele." Other times, they end up taking me places like this.

Good thing I have quick reflexes! Well, quick-ish.
