I Almost Had Nothing

I greatly feared I would not have too much to write about today since I'm beeeeeat. Dee is sleepy ti-ti. I was caffeinated to the nth degree earlier, but it was one of those completely unproductive caffeinations in which all I did was run around in circles until the occasional coworker reeled me in to ask me for something. I daresayI was overcaffeinated. Gasp!

Anyway, I was thinking about writing about tulips and how much I love them; how much they remind me of my time in der Nederlands; how I think I'll go buy myself some as my own personal Administrative Professionals Day gift to myself, since I SERIOUSLY DOUBT anybody here will remember to do so.

But then Culby and his fly girl stopped by to drop off a hardcopy of his portfolio for me to pimp around the Agency. As we were standing in the lobby chatting, Lee, his fly girl, mentioned that they were going to go to Galapagos in Williamsburg near(ish) where I live and see a show called Dr. Lucky's Burlesque School. It starts at 8 and goes until 10. Lee invited me along. Regrettably, I declined the invitation as I have to hie my ass uptown to Tower Records to buy my Ben Folds CD and secure my wristband for the in-store performance tomorrow night.

I did second guess myself. How often does one get a chance to see some decent burlesque? No, really. This brought to mind something I had forgotten to share with you last night. As I was poring over a copy of the Voice while waiting for my laundry, I realized, to my chagrin, that I had missed a Suicide Girls Fashion Show, held Friday night at Arlene's Grocery.

I stumbled across the Suicide Girls website back in my "internet advertising" days and I always liked the idea of these lovely, cool, non-conformist ladies redefining what is and isn't sexy about pornography, erotica, etc...they are the antitheses of the busty, glossy-lipped blondes of most of what passes for sexy and erotic these days.

They have tatts and piercings and blue hair. And are still, in my own humble opinion as a woman appreciating feminine beauty, sexy bitches.
