I Shit You Not

Last night I stayed over at Kelly's house since John is currently gallivanting around Iceland for a Bachelor Party wearing a tracksuit, wig, and carrying a tennis racket. I told her I would stay over and we would spoon.

I must have waited for the G train at Lorimer St. for ages...at least 15 minutes, because I listened to about 4 songs. After a long day, I sat down on the train and just zoned out with my iPod.

Then, at the Bergen St. stop, I felt a tap on my shoulder and was handed EXHIBIT A: A business card. I looked at it and thought, "Oh, one of those people who just hands it out to drum up business." Then I flipped it over and encountered EXHIBIT B: A handwritten note!

I have one question: IS THAT NOT THE HANDWRITING OF A SERIAL KILLER??

Of course, Kelly subjected the brazen gent to a brutal Googling, which he -shockingly- passed with flying colors!

Ah. Love in the time of Google.

And to think you had trepidations about moving to Brooklyn. Your first week and you are making new friends! What were you listening to when this went down??

I know! I love Brooklyn! It scares and delights me all at once! Nothing like a constant state of gleeful fear to keep your shoulders nice and tight. I was listening to Moving Units. The track was "Between Us and Them" off of Dangerous Dreams.

OK, the track was called "Between us and them". Cue Twilight Zone music! That's what it was I guess, between you 2 - yet in a very public place! You'll never hear that song the same way again.

Er. sorry, thought I was laying claim to a well known fact. Now you've gone and made me feel bad...

    LOL!

It's Ok. You were right, of course. But the shift had ocurred before you mentioned it. I was, in fact, trying to make you feel bad. HA! Attempts to "reclaim" the song, which I had loved, so far have been only about 40% effective. Additionlly, the malady seems to have spread to the rest of the record. So sad.
