Personally, the neighborhood is smoky and warm. I woke up last night when the smoke started to settle, but my sleep-fuddled brain couldn't put 2 and 2 together and remember the fire nearby. Instead, all I thought before falling back to sleep was, "Who the hell is smoking on the porch?"

I slept hard last night, possibly due to the smoke encroaching on my oxygen supply. MFDC and I went to the Hotel Cafe to go see Vienna Teng, a singer-songwriter-pianist. She was very good live. You should check her out if she comes to your city. She has a very pure, feminine voice that speaks to the mystical, introspective, vegetarian, asian lesbian inside all of us.
