Y'all Wanna Party Like We Do

I am so excited. Tonight is Kelly and John's housewarming party. I've got the Aquavit chilling in the freezer, a cute new t-shirt to pimp, and an overpriced manicure as the cherry on the sundae.

Oh, what's that, you ask? What's Aquavit? Why, it's the spirit of choice among the Gods, my friends. And this is not the first mention of this glorious treat from Oslo, Norway, on this website. Please refer to this post about a very good night.

Now, when consuming Aquavit, one is supposed to sing songs that go something like, "Lah dee dah," and then serve it up with some herring on bread. I'm going to skip the herring in favor of some cheese, switch out the "Lah dee dah" song for something a little more in line with the theme of the night (I'll probably take requests), and make my Aquavit experience for the evening my own.

My previous (and only) experience with Aquavit occurred after one Jameson and Ginger and 3 El Presidentes (Los Presidentes?), and was limited to 1.5 servings. I would consider that a night of "mixing" and we all know how that can turn out. The fact that I was able to hold it together AND SMOKE A PIPE FULL OF TOBACCO is quite an accomplishment for me. My alcohol intake usually requires a carefully planned consumption strategy that revolves around 2, maybe 3, different drinks in order to keep my shit together. However, this evening I plan on rocking out with my cock out. Hence, my dance card looks a little something like this:

I'm not sure if that's a recipe for disaster or not, but I can't be bothered pondering the potential ramifications. Tonight I am a Norwegian, at a housewarming party in Brooklyn, with some of the greatest people in the city to join me. There will be cheese, there will be scallops wrapped in bacon (Aw yeah!), there will be John's painstakingly constructed Housewarming Party Playlist to carry us through.

And my friends...THERE WILL BE AQUAVIT.
