I like words.* A lot. You might not be able to tell because of my run-on sentences, excessive swearing, sentence fragments, awkward syntax, poor grammar and, recently, very shitty haiku skills, but I do love me some palabras. Even though I have no basis for doing so, I often judge people by how they speak or write. It makes me feel better about myself.
Additionally, I like to make up words. If I've ever had occasion to correspond with you in anything other than a non-vocal manner, you've likely been forced to consume the results of some of my special verbal recipes. Some of you have even aided me in my quest to introduce these new words into popular vernacular, or invented new ones yourselves!
Some people are freedom fighters and some people save babies. I'm single-handedly attempting to refresh and rejuvenate the English language, one made-up word at a time. I also feel it's very important to revive good words and oppress bad words.
Everyone has a running list of their go-to favorites. One of mine is "Awesome." Sure, it may be overused, but when I say awesome, I mean AWESOME. I put some soul into it. I truly am full of awe when I say awesome.
I also have a list of words I don't like, but I'll keep it to myself since I don't want to perpetuate any of my own personal word prejudices. That would be wrong.
This evening I decided that a particular word has fallen a little too far off the radar, and I'd like to enlist your help in bringing it back to the masses. It's your responsibility as TwerpsWorld readers to DO MY BIDDING! I mean, to assist me when needed in exchange for healthy doses of innuendo and the occasional allusion to pillow fights.
The word is "Luscious."
lus·cious ( P ) Pronunciation Key (lshs)
adj.
1. Sweet and pleasant to taste or smell: a luscious melon. See Synonyms at delicious.
2. Having strong sensual or sexual appeal; seductive.
3. Richly appealing to the senses or the mind: a luscious, vivid description.
4. Archaic. Excessively sweet; cloying.
I chose it because:
- I find it very pleasing to say. I like the way it feels to say it.
- I used it the other day on Muppetita and it actually made me feel like what it is! Feelings influenced by words! GLORIOUS!
- "Sexy"is the most overused word on the planet, especially in advertising. Advertising killed "sexy." But there are other words just as good. Like "luscious."
- When I went into my roommate's room to grab something out of it, her condoms were sitting on her bed. Durex Tropical. "Exotic colors and luscious flavors." That is an EXCELLENT use of "luscious!" I took this as a sign that luscious needed to be revived. It was meant for more than simply adorning a box of Durex Tropical condoms.
Your mission is to use luscious in a sentence within the next, oh, I'll give you 48 hours. You must then report back to me the scenario in which you used this word and any reactions related to it. The individual with the most original tale wins a prize of their choosing WITHIN REASON, ROCKDOG! Extra points for creativity.
Off you go then, my luscious little wordmeisters!
*I'm a big fan of onomatopoeia when used in an appropriate context. Alliteration is fun, too!

And we know who you take after, when it comes to making up new words.
LOL!!!
Yes, except I:
1.) Have an understanding of the words I'm trying to make up and
2.) Am actually aware that they are, in fact, made up!
