The heat continues unabated. It's currently 82 but feels like 9 gajillion with the humidity (59% and the barometer is falling).
I was able to get to sleep last night with the assistance of a fan, despite my unbelievably loud neighborhood. Why are children running around at 10:30 at night on a Sunday? Anyway, I slept HARD until about 2 a.m., when the "band" returned home to store their "gear."
Yes, there is a "band" storing their "gear" in my living room. I don't know why I keep using quotes whenever I talk about that. It's kind of disrespectful. I'll "stop." Anyway, there is a keytar in their mountain of gear, which kinda stinks if I'm gonna be honest. The gear stinks, not the keytar. I sprayed Febreeze near it (ok, OVER it) until it occurred to me that that might not be such a good idea.
I'm dying to play that keytar. Yesterday afternoon my roommate Sara texted me that the "band" (her quotes! Not mine!) was picking up their stuff and when I expressed that I was bummed about the absence of the keytar, she told me that it would be there again tonight, and it is. I wonder, if I asked nicely, would I be permitted to rock out with the keytar? It would pretty much make my week, which promises to be hellish, both work-wise and weather-wise.
This morning, after I put on the make-up I knew was going to slide off my face in 7 seconds flat, I stared down the nozzle of my hairdryer. What to do? Long hair is nice. I like it. Except in the summertime when I have to tame it. Then it's not so nice. Seriously, it was already 80 degrees in the apartment. If I were to fire that thing up, it would shoot up to 90 and I would probably pass out.
I decided to revolt against my hairdryer and opted to let my hair air-dry, which is always a risk. Lucky for me, the risk paid off...TODAY. Tomorrow could be another matter entirely. Fortunately, I am staying at the Muppet's tonight. She has AC. And hopefully an iron. So I will be wrinkle-free and appropriately coifed. At least for the elevator ride down to the street.
We're being threatened with some thunderstorms today. Please, please, please!

Ah well...At least I get to blow my hair out and use all your Deva Gurl products! SWEET! I will be luscious!
You are such a baby! Why don't you grow a pair and deal with the heat. HAAAAA - OK, I know you Yankees don't do very well with this weather. It's actually nice - and has been. Try dealing with 100 degrees, feels like the depths of hell, with 100% humidity. Gosh, I miss south Louisiana!
