I Knew I Wasn't Stoopit!

So, I bought this new phone and it does fun things like take pictures, download MP3s, take mini-movies (without sound), connect to the World Wide Web, etc... it's a fun new toy.

One that has driven me bat-shit crazy.

I consider myself to be a relatively technically savvy individual. I can find my way around gadgets and I'm tenacious, so I'm one of those people who will keep trying until I have it figured out. Even if it takes me into the wee hours of the morning and my eyes start to bleed.

The fact that I could not figure out why my phone was not sending the pictures I wanted to send was weighing on my mind heavily. Had I gone stoopit in a blink? It's possible. I've heard of it happening...I just never thought it would happen to me.

I read the manual. I followed the instructions implicitly. I searched on the manufacturer's website and the service provider's website. I called the manufacturer. No dice. Finally, I called the service provider.

Their internet is down. It's being updated. Text messages and voice mail alerts are fine. Additionally, you can still download games and ringtones. But everything else is not working, hence why I was not able to send any photos.

Me: Do you know when my connection to the internet will be restored?

Operator: Soon, and then everything will be fine.

Me: Oh, ok! So, like, in a few hours? That soon?

Operator: Um, a few days. In a few days you should be fine. But you should call first just to make sure.

Me: Oh...uh, ok...well, thanks.

A FEW DAYS??? What the HELL are they doing that will take a FEW DAYS??? So, millions of customers will be unable to send or receive photos or check their email from their wireless phone. How about a little text message with a heads up? "Hey, don't worry. You're not stoopit, we're just polishing some shit up. Just rock it Old Skool Style, straight up phone calls and text messages. You'll be able to pimp photos in a hot minute."
